How Does Microneedling Work?
Our skin needling treatment in Kenya involves using a Microneedling pen, a small barrel-like roller with micro needles, to gently puncture the surface layer of the skin. These punctures induce your skin's natural healing process, which in turn increases the production of collagen and elastin.
Collagen is the protein responsible for skin elasticity and firmness, and elastin allows skin to stretch and snap back into shape. As we age, our skin naturally produces less collagen and elastin, leading to wrinkles, sagging, and other signs of aging. Microneedling helps to counteract these effects by helping your skin produce more of these fibres and restore a youthful appearance.
Before the treatment begins, your skin will be prepped to receive the Microneedling pen. The preparation involves the application of a topical anaesthetic 30 minutes prior to the procedure to ensure you remain comfortable throughout. The total time for the treatment, including the waiting time for the topical anaesthetic to take effect, is around 50-60 minutes.
